2005: Awesome Year

The year 2005 was an awesome year... Started with the submission of Dissertation on the target date. Then got recruited on my first job and started working during the III semester exams. Gave my final semester exams in the month of July/August. Received my first Salary. I was very happy when I received my first salary. For the first time I bought gifts to my parents, brother and few relatives from my own money. Read few novels, done some training at office, went out with friends for movies and picnics...the Hognekal trip...ya Hognekal Trip was full of fun and enjoyment. Had a good time during this year.

Lots of things to do during 2006 with still more enthusiasm, energy and focus...

O Humdum...

Listening to the song from Saatiya - O Humdum Suniyoore... Nice song...
It was a big hit when I was in the final semester of my graduation...

The TALK Box...

Made a bit change to my blog... Included you can see a Tag Board on the right hand side of the blog. Saw it on many blogs and thot it wud be fun including it on my blog...

Have a great time...

The day I was waiting for...

Hmmmm... Finally I got my resutls for the MBA Final Sem... 66.21%... Well I wrote the exams after 6 months from the day I was recruited and started working. It was difficult for me to study after work everyday... Anyways as I always say..."Life is full of sport and challenges"... Its the end of formal education and a good ending to it through MBA with First Class...

Its always been that I get good marks in Finance subjects while the marks that I get Marketing pull my overall results down. I wish the University allows to take up one specialisation that interests students rather than keeping dual specialisation...

Weekend has started with lots of things happening. It started with watching a movie...followed by attending the Salsa and Jazzzzz show presented by Swingers Dance Co., at the St. Johns Audi in the evening. The name of the show was "The Untitled"...the company had organized a contest wherein the audience have to suggest a name and the best entry could win prizes.

I enjoyed the show and the performance of the presenters was awesome. Got to see dance performance on some Britney Spears songs and on Desparado sound track. There was also a dance number by kids in the age group 5 and below, that was fun watching kids perform...some of the kids forgot the steps and two of the kids were searching for their parents from the stage. There were performance by kids, students of Swingers Dance Co., and by professional dancers. One of my colleague also performed a dance...I wasnt aware that she could dance so well...amazing performance. All in all the show was awesome.

Movie soon after work...

Friday me and one of my friend after office hours were having talk...we decided to watch a took only 30 minutes for us to reach PVR at Forum from office. I was looking at the screen where the movie timings were displayed. The only movie that was about to start in 5 mins was Bluffmaster in which Abhishek is starring. It was a ok ok type of movie...the songs and music are good. It was not planned that we will go for a movie...the thought of going to a movie came when we were about to leave office...sometimes unplanned activities workout smoothly.

Her Majesty...

Her Majesty The Queen today officially opened Reuters new London headquarters. I wish I could have been there during this function. Well I did not miss her visit. I saw the full coverage of her visit on video which went for 45 minutes. Makes me feel proud for being an employee of such a great organization. Reuters has a rich history of 154 years...providing on time, accurate, complete and unbiased news and financial data. 154 years hmmm is really a long duration to meet and keep up the standards and values...

Thunder Bird

Yesterday evening I met a friend who owns a Thunder Bird. I took it for a ride...the bike has got awesome poWer. When riding it, you tend to feel the power the bike has. I enjoyed it riding on the ring road...and I hope it was my luck that there was no traffic and the road ahead was absolutely clear for me to enjoy the power of the bike.

No its not fate

One of my colleague said... you cant change fate, ye to naseeb ka khel hain... Is that true???

No I dont believe in what he said. We are the one who make our fate. Todays decissions are the foundations for what is going to happen tomorow. A thoughtful action will help in having a better future. Fate is not to be blammed for the things which went resulted because of the action in the past.

Had been to a restaurent called The Vil'age near my office... The interiors of the restaurent makes you feel you are at a house in a village. The food was delicious...and palak paneer was simply the best. It makes me feel good when I have good food at a very good The Vil'age...

At Home

DAY 1 of my Vacation...

I arrived at my home town early morning today... I thought...I should take a walk till my home. While I was walking, the memories of my graduation days popped up... I came across my college, the restaurent and the colddrink shop where I had spent some of my lifes beautiful moments. Now, when I look back, I feel that somehow I should be able to move back the time so that I can enjoy those moments once again.

Now I hope these 9 days of my vacation should last looooooongggggggggggggggg.

Saturday...was just like heaven reading this story. A good story with the flavour of love and surprises. Saturday was good day...spent the whole day reading this book. After The Alchemist, The Goal, Who Moved My Cheese and The Present (ofcourse excluding the college books) this is the book which I have read in a single day. A brief intro about the book... Its story about a Doctor who goes into coma and is trying hard to come back to normal.

[State of coma...where few people can listen to whats happening around but are unable to respond...Need to know more about what they feel in that stage. I guess the one who are mentally strong and possess will power come back to normal]

14 Hours...

The best thing one can do when it's raining is to let it rain...

Its been raining raining raining in Bangalore...Yesterday it had almost 14 hours of rain...Roads flooded with rain water affecting business and normal life of Bangaloreans.

I liked the job done by Bangalore City Traffic Police, who were trying their best to keep the traffic going smooth amid heavy rains. Also got SMSs on my Hutch phone from City Traffic Police with suggesstions to avoid the flooded roads. Great job...

Here are some snaps describing heavy amounts of rain...

Saturday: Sleep...>Read...>Music...>Friends...>Movie...>Party...>Sleep

Sunday: Repeat Saturday...

I saw KBC2 for the first time it started since a few months ago. A lot has can feel that it has become too much of commercial. When phone a friend...u hear the mobile phone service provider-airtel tone, when the contestant is playing u see lenova-the name of the PCs(Lenova the chinese co, which took over IBMs PC business few months ago)... Inspite of all the changes the one that has not changed is Amitabhs style of hosting the game. Amitabh is a great actor with a solid voice...

Jane kyon...

Met a few of my friends...oh god...they too came in the trap of love. oh man... jane kyon log pyar karate hain... jane kyon wo kisi pe marate hain... jane kyon..jane kyon.,jane kyon.

It doesnt mean that I am against it... but I have seen many people loosing in it. Its like 8 of 10 relations do not work. The remaining two are the lucky ones.

Read an interview of Bismillah Khan in Readers Digest... The Passion that he has for Shehnai is unbelievable. At the age of 90, he is residing at his home town unlike his contemporaries who flew west. Passion that he has for Shehnai can not be described in words. A recipient of the prestigious Bharat Ratna leads a very simple life.

I have his photo which was taken when he had come to Bangalore a few years ago. That photo was taken before he was about to play Shehnai at a packed auditorium. Before the concert began he was seen doing riyaz in a small room near the auditorium. While taking the snap when asked why he was in a small room playing Shehnai...Khan Saheb answered...Shehnai is my passion and I do riyaz all the time even before playing it in the concert. Such a great personality, who knows Shehnai very well still does riyaz was impressive. This shows the belief Khan Saheb has in Practice. One thing that I liked about him was the Passion that he has for Shehnai. Be it business, playing an instrument or any job...if one has passion...then he/she is bound to succeed.

When he plays Shehnai...the auditorium echos with the appreciation of his fans with the words...Wah hujur wahhhh....

Lets see how the Strings sound

Image hosted by

Bought a new Guitar yesterday (I finally own one). I wanted to buy a guitar when I was studying in graduation...but could not afford to spend time on learning to play guitar those days, the same was during MBA. Now that I can afford to spend 2 hours on a daily basis...thought should buy a guitar. Will be joining a class from today to learn to play guitar. After learning...would like to play...

Hotel California
Romeo & Juliet Theme
Summer of 69
Desperado Title Song
Karz Theme...

Being a layman to’s going to be difficult in the initial days of learning. Patience is very much required. Let’s see how the strings sound...

Safety First...

Many accidents happening in the city and from yesterday I started using seat belts. People in the anticipation of reaching quickly drive so fast they eventually meet with an accident. Eventhough one is following traffic rules or driving slow, there is no guarantee that accidents wont happen, most of the times its because of the people who are rash drivers.

Its like...

Speed Thrills...
Speed Kills. start using seat belts...they can save ur life...

Came across a book called "Earthquake" which was published in during 1960. What a information it has about why does EQ happen...what factors are responsible for such a natural disaster and more... I was looking at the world map in the book which describes the epicenters(the regions likely to have frequent EQs). Such regions were marked in red and the regions in India were northern part of J&K, Gujarat and Maharashtra. The information was so conviencing coz J&K had a EQ recently, Gujarat and Maharashtra(Lathur)... how can one forget these places which claimed thousands of lives during major EQs measuring around 7 on Richter Scale. May god rest thier souls in peace...and give strength to the people to overcome such disasters... There is lots of aid coming to help the people in the recent EQ...but will such an aid/help get back what they had before EQ...

Other major epicenters were Alaska, Indonesia, Japan and some part of Indian Ocean.

Inspite of advancement in Science and Technology we are unable to predict such disasters well in advance so that precautions can be taken.

I was buying few stufs at a local departmental store...while I was paying the bill... My eyes went on a rack full of Cadbury's Chocolates. Couldnt wait and brought a Dairy Milk... I used to have lots of chocolates when in School, the number started reducing when I entered graduation and it was almost nil during MBA. Dairy Milk is a chocolate with rich taste...smooth..and hmmmmm yummy. And guess what at Cadbury's they are celebrating 100 years of providing great taste.

With the Nobel Prize list being announcement...I look for the prizes awarded in the field of Economics/Finance...This year award for contribution in the Economics is awarded to Robert J Aumann and Thomas C Schelling. Aumanns contribution towards Game theory bagged him the prize.

I believe Nobel Prize is not a matter of chance, it requires dedication, committment, sinceriety..... It takes decade or more to develop a Prize wining research. I liked the work of Harry Markowitz(for Portfolio Theory) and William Sharpe(for Capital Asset Prizing Model) who were awarded Nobel Prize in 1990, which changed the way investments are made and valued. It was one of the biggest contrbution to the world of Finance and Economics and the concepts are being widely used in todays Financial Markets.

Grad Classmates...

Meet two of my classmates from graduation. It was nice to see them in Bangalore. 3 years I had spent with them...that was a wonderful time. Graduation days and days during MBA were the best days of my life. Most of my friends have moved to different cities as required by thier jobs. Its true what they say..."College Life is Golden Life" and impossible to get those days back. It just leaves behind sweet memories and a hope that someday somewhere we will meet.

Stop this...

On the radio I was listening to a song, a difficult song to understand and think of...

The song goes like this...(My thoughts about the song in italics)

Jeeyega Marega...Marega - Marne ke baad kya aatma se pyar karega?
Karega Bharega...Bharega - Kya Bharega?
Suli chadega...chadega - Zindagi ki cidi chad!
Love ke liye saala kuch bhi karega... - Kuch Bhi Bole to, Be rational dude.

Oh man...difficult to take this song...the only thought that came to my mind was... STOP THIS SONG!

Just remembered

Opened up my old files, folders and college bag to search for analysis of rising oil prices which I had done few months back. I was sitting on my chair and reading the articles and statical work done by me and felt good. This seems to happen when you come across a work for which you had put in a lots of time and efforts.

Rising oil prices have a massive impact on the economy they put an upward pressure on inflation and move GDP southwards....was one of the line written by me. I was very much interested those days in finding corelation between gold and oil and the impact of rising oil prices on the economy. Its an interesting topic to research on. Whenever the oil prices rally everyone talks about it starting from a small investor to the FED Chairman Greenspan...isnt it?

A 4 line poem which came to my mind when I was walking...

the way the things are going,
dont know where am i heading!
with every decisions taken after a thought,
God, give me strengths to make my future bright.

No work = Poetry

Whenever I have less work or no work... I put on the hat of a Poet... its a good thing actaully, and helps in improving thinking ability and vocabulary too. Always get blocked on the third or fourth line of poem.

A WeeK LoooooonG VacaTioN

At Belgaum...

Such a cool place. Meet my parents and brother. Had delicious home made food and slept nicely. Meet professors from the college where I did my graduation. I always see some improvement everytime I visit the college. Meet my graduation classmates, some after a long time of 2 years. Had snacks at the favourite restuarent and canteen of those times. It was raining here when I visited, I like the climate over here....its cool and you can see greenery everywhere. After spending two days in Belgaum, I went to Miraj.

At Miraj...

This is another city which I would like to visit often. Met my dada, giji, mama, mami and cousins. It was nice time staying there. From Miraj I went to Sangli to meet my grandpa and mama. Then I visited Kolhapur.

At Kolhapur like a Kolhapuri...

You can feel the essense of Maharashtra when you visit this city. Everywhere you find hoarding describing Maharashtra state and its culture. I visited Mahalakshmi temple, one of the famous temples in India. Had the famous Raja Bhov Bhel, hmmmm still feel the taste. Met my Moushi, kaka and cousins. From here I started back to Belgaum.

Journey from Kolhapur to Belgaum...

Amazing journey from Kolhapur to Belgaum. The National Highway which is a part of golden quadrilateral has been developed very well. Such a smooth road, you wont feel that you are travelling in a bus. Listening to the songs from one of my favourite movie Parineeta, the cold climate and the bus journey was too good.

Came back to Belgaum as my vacation was approcahing its end. Felt like not to be back to Bangalore leaving parents, relatives and friends behind. But had no option other than to return to Bangalore. Started my journey back to Bangalore in my favourite Travels bus with a bunch of good memories and a desire to return back to Belgaum as soon as possible. The tea at the dhaba on the highway and the journey in the night was memorable.

I was busy during these months like never before. Too much of work and had to prepare for an examination. All at once...uff... when i count the number of hours I worked during these days, its stunning. The total number of hours I was in the office was 360 hours against the required number of 160 hours. Slept too little, having food at irregular intervals and going through the numbers all the time. As the work cooled off and the exam got over I was ready for a week long vacation.

Back Again...

Its been a month since I last blogged. Was busy with the work and then went on an vacation for a week.

Much Awaited...

The correction expected in the Sensex occured yesterday, moving the Sensex southwards by 147 points. Overvaluation and oil prices were the major factors for the fall of Sensex. Oil prices crossed $62.5 per barrel compelling the stock markets across the world to close in the negative territory.

Its an ending of MBA at the college... which has brought with it a new begining...

Thursday, 28 July 2005

Life is full of sport and challenges.

Finally..... the day arrived. I wrote my last exam of MBA.... Always wanted to be an MBA, struggled a lot to get a seat and struggled a lot in the college to understand Finance.... Such a wonderful feeling this day has brought with it...

Still a long way to go and I feel its just the begining. Want to explore whats next....... >>>

Dont rely on others for help. You have it in you to help yourself. Nothing can stop you from achieving what you want if you can help yourself. Believe in yourself and and the world will believe you.

Another Movie I saw

Saw "The WallStreet" movie.... great movie. The story revolves around how a trader is involved in soaring the price of a stock... He is able to take the price from 10 1/4 to 35 2/8..... creating artificial demand for the stock. He does heavy trading on information that he acquires from within the firm.

The movie shows the passion of the trader and his desire to move the markets. Desrie to move the markets is great, but he does it in a wrong way which is illegal. He realises in the second half of the movie that he is using incorrect ways to trade, but its too late to reverse the effect. He is caught by the law for the sin he committed.

Parineeta... Awsome music, story and acting. Liked the movie and trying to learn the songs. Rekha who appears in only one song has performed really well. Last five minutes of the movie I found boring... but when you have enjoyed almost 99% of the movie... 5 minutes of boring part is tolerable. I think one should watch this movie.

War of the Worlds.... As usual Spielberg type movie... with lots of special effects and humans trying to save themselves from another creatures, this time from another planet.

Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya... A comedy and fun filled movie with the lead actor always lying to his girlfried and finally ends up getting married to his secretary.

Parineeta * * * * *
War of the World * * *

It was good to meet all the classmates after a long break of 5 months.

Missing College

Ya... me missing the college. The day I came back to write my final exams in the college.... I was remembering the days spent discussing the cases, attending classes especially SAPM, Financial Services, Industrial Marketing, Brand Management and ofcourse Business Commn, Intl Business..... It was a good feeling to be back in the college.

Me a Forex Trader....

Yup... Got an opportunity to be a Forex Trader in a Forex Game organized during the "Customer Focus Week" that we had in our organization. I was given access to such systems, for which only the big traders and Portfolio Managers have access. It was real fun. Factoring the info which comes to the market and taking a call on the market is not an easy job. Its challenging as well its interesting too.

Traded heavily and made a profit of 1356 pips, by trading in variuos currencies. Actually the profit on the last day had crossed 4000 pips, but because of wrong view I took, I literally was running under a loss of 2000pips. By taking short term positions I was able to come back on the profit side and ended the day with a profit of 1356pips. All in All the game was ful of risk, returns and fun.

Its been a long time

Its been a long time that I blogged... was busy with the work, couldnt find time even to visit the blogpage. Now thats the busy time is over... feeling relaxed. Exams are the only worry, hope they finish off soon

Deep Throat

I am talking about the Former FBI Director, Mark Felt(also known as Deep Throat) who revealed his identity to the public yesterday. He is 91 years old and has solved numerous cases. A James Bond of his times. He was responsible for the resignation of former US president Nixon, which resulted after the Watergate case was solved. I appreciate his commitment towards his duties and to keep his identity a secrect for almost 70 years from politacal observers and media.

A Beautiful Sight

Having coffee and standing in the gallery of my office. Looking at the Leela Palace, it looks beautiful during dawn... the pink color building, the greenery around it. The sight is amazing. The King whoever lived there must have had a wonderful time.

Rain Rain Raining

Its been raining heavily these days. More than 100 trees have been reported to be fallen. Its good for the economy when it rains. Adequate rains help rise the GDP, but at the same time it shoots up the traffic. I had been to MG road yesterday, the traffic was terrible; traffic jams everywhere. Especially the double road was horrible. The rain water had risen to the 2feet level on the road. Can BCC do something about such roads?

Phool Khilte Hain...

Phool khilte hain,
baharoon ka saama hota hain,
ise hi mousam mein to pyar jawan hota hain;
Dil ki baaten, hooton se nahi kehte;
yeh afsaana to nighaon se bayaan hota hain........

Got to hear these beautiful lines from the movie Sarfarosh.

All human actions have one or more of these seven causes: chance, nature, compulsions, habit, reason, passion, desire.

Last week was a wonderful week and I feel "Zindagi Milgai Mujhe". Can never forget these days. I am not getting words to describe how beautiful was the last week. Just I can say is it was the time I enjoyed like never before. Felt that the time should come to halt coz I wanted to enjoy every second to its max.

The Place I love most

Had been to Miraj: a place in Maharashtra. Miraj is my birth place and I have spent all my holidays here till 11th standard. Everytime I take the train to come back to Belgaum/Bangalore, I feel I should not go anywhere but stay in this place. There are lot of memories associated with this place. Memories flash in whenever I think of this place. One thing that always comes to my mind is, When I was a kid, my grandfather and my uncle used to take me around the city. Those days are never going to comeback but they have left memories to cherish.

National Integration

Brought a couple marathi songs. They are available in Bangalore... and thats what I call National Integration. Good numbers, especially the one in which the Dada Kondke has acted. Nice composition. It feels good to hear that language when I am away from home.

Teaching Kannada???

Taught Kannada to my cousin who was appearing for Medical Entrance Test. I do remember the lanaguage even though I last wrote it in my 10th standard exam. It was a nice experience. But I am not able to understand the logic why Kannada language test should be taken by students aspiring for MBBS.

Worlds famous quotes here

Some People...

Some People never change, they donot stop passing indirect comments. I don't know why they indulge in such things. If they wana say something, why can't say it on the face. May be such people have fear and afraid of.

Baar Baar Dekho

Was tired at the office, took a break. Got to see 3 beautiful songs on MTv's Baar Baar Dekho. First, was "Musafir Hoon Yaroon" followed by "Maine Tere Liye Hi Saath Rang Ke Sapne Choone from Anand" and lastly "Acha ji Mein Haari Chalo Maan jao na, from a Madhubala's movie". Felt recharged after seeing these songs and back again in action to work.
Madhubala, a beautiful actress with a killing smile; now i feel that Preity Zinta has lost her place of favourite actress of mine.... Its now Madhubala's turn.

Na rahega EBITDA na hoga CFPS!!! (original: Na rahegi Baas na bajegi baasoori!). Coz CFPS is computed using EBITDA.

Its Friday!

Friday is the day i love. Its the day from where the party begins; off work and Party maadi.

A shayari i heard, it goes like this....

arz kiya hai...
Khatarnak hai woh bahu (daughter in law),
jo ghar ko swargh (heaven) banaye....
Khatarnak hai woh bahu,
jo ghar ko swargh banaye;
kyon ki...... kyon ki......
gharwale swarghwasi khelayenge!

Up up and away

In the Monetary Policy YV Reddy announced a hike of 25bps in the reverse repo. Of course there are reasons which make us think that a hike was necessary. But there are recent developments which tell us that a hike was not necessary this time. The Credit offtake was growing and the deposits were declining. This is good for a growing economy like India as lower interest rates move the credit offtake northwards, thus fueling economic growth. The recent hike is definetly going to decrease the credit offtake as the credit is no longer going to cheap as it was day before yesterday. The major factor driving the interest rates northwards is the oil price rally and every nation has to learn to live with it.

Reverse Repo is one of the tool which RBI uses to control the inflationary pressures. The infaltion can be kept under control by using Credit Reserve Ratio also. RBI could have reduced the CRR which would have helped in controlling inflation. Its really difficult to find why Reverse Repo was hiked and why not CRR reduced. May be the reason would be revealed in the detailed speech which is about to be published.

Life is a journey and a best Teacher

It is been rightly said that Life is a Journey. In this journey you meet new people and you have to depart from the existing ones. It is not possible for any one to remain with thier classmates for life long and every one has to learn to live without them after certain time, else the life will teach them to stay apart; Life is a best teacher, Isnt it?

Too Much

Bangalore's traffic is becoming worst day by day. Yesterday it took me 40 minutes to reach Forum, inspite of the oneways which were made to reduce traffic congestion. Its becoming difficult to ride two wheelers in such a traffic.

The Oil Factor

Bought a new book "The Oil Factor". The first thing I bought from my first salary. The book is written on the concept of the Oil Shock and the consequences that the world will have to face. Liked the book and it covers everything related to the oil. Especially the impact of the rally in oil prices on the Forex. A recommended book for the people in Finance and especially those dealing with Fianancial Markets.

tAtA... ByE... ByE

It was a wonderful farewell party organized by our juniors. Every one enjoyed it, especially the MadAd Show presented by my classmates and the CCIMies award initiated by the juniors. After a long week of hectic work the saturday night party was great. And at this point of time every one realised that it was time to say Bye to the College and the days of fun we had together. We remembered the most exciting classes and also the most boring classes we had. We will not be asked to pay fine or write summaries here after. Thank God. But for the good times that we had in the campus... every one will remember.

Budget 2005

I was hoping that the Corp tax will be reduced this time. The reduction in the corporate tax from 35% to 30% in Mr. PC's Budget 2005 on the one hand will allow companies to pay more dividends, invest in new projects, expansions, etc while on the other hand it is going to reduce the income for the govenment. I think the loss incurred by the government will be offset by more investments which will result in more production, more employment and more spending.
Once again the govt has reduced the customs duty on Oil, in one way its good for the oil importing companies in this oil rally season but at the same time it is again going to reduce the earnings for the govt. Sometimes it is difficult to guess whats there in the mind of all these big and intelligent guys like Mr. PC and Mr. Singh.

ClassRoom Training

Exams over... No work to do... was getting bored... So Saw the movie BLACK... Story and the way the movie is picturised is really good. Rani and Amitab have exhibited thier talent once again. The story revolves around how a blind and deaf girl(Rani) tries to be independent in this world with the help of Amitab. The movie describes the difficulties of people who are physically handicaped. Everyone should watch this movie.

Prayer of a typical Investor

Statutory Warning: The Investor in this prayer is fictional and the views expressed in this message does not resemble any person living or dead.

Occupation : Investing in Financial Markets

Age : Not Disclosed

Address: S&P 500, "Stock Villa", Wall Street, Money Planet, United States of Investors

Portfolio : Invested in all the financial instruments(Real and Intangible) available under the Sun.

This is how he prays...

Keep the Oil Prices under control, Increase the Gross Refining Margins,

Let the inflation and interest rates do not have an impact my investments,

Let the Sectors where I have invested grow,

Deregulate those sectors,

Let the competition be with respect to paying dividends,

Let the industries remain in the Growth stage,

Give me access to the information much earlier than other investors,

Oh God! I dont ask more from you.

Let the Corporations financial health become strong and Beta Value decrease,

Its not because of Outsourcing

I came across a report which said that- Outsourcing to Indian has not affected the US Economy. The US economy is affected by the job loss in the manufacturing sector. About 800,000 jobs were lost during 2000-2003 in which only 100,000 jobs were lost because of outsoucring while the rest were lost in the manufacturing sector. Around 700,000 job loss in manufacturing sector were the result of the strong dollar the report said.

Its interesting. When the dollar becomes strong, US Exports become costlier resulting in the decline of demand. Hence, the manufacturing companies had to lay off the people to keep the costs under control.

Its amazing to see that an appreciation in US Dollar by about 7% could lead to such a huge number of jobs to be lost.

Yesterday I hosted a website for the company where I had done my summer project. The company already had its details on the net in the Companys Group Site. I had suggested them that they should have a seperate site as international and local investors, government authorities and other stakeholders are interested in what the company does and not with what the group does. The site was designed by me and was approved by the GMs of the company and finally it was hosted yesterday.
