time flies...so does the blog grows...

Rising with years...

Random thoughts took an electronic form during the December 2004 with the "What's Happening" revolving around my thoughts going digital. The blog since then has been a form of transmitting the random thoughts... The time has flown with a velocity of a rocket. I remember the days when I was studying MBA, it was then I posted my first post on to this blog. Since then around 328 posts have filled in the server space with more than 8000 computers/mobiles hitting the blog. The journey continues...so does the random thoughts keep going digital...

The Present...

One step in the past and the other in future we rarely walk in the present and we rarely enjoy what it offers!

it was much needed...

A good break was a much needed one... and place like Goa is the best to have a break..relaxing, and refreshing. With my friends it was a nice trip and we covered places like Kolhapur, Ganapatipule along with Goa. Be it the train journey, or waiting for the bus on a highway during the early morning hours when the clock was striking 2 AM, or be it the taxi drive...all was fun. Mouth watering food or the cool breeze from the sea and the rising and falling tides..all added fun to the memorable events.

Pics from Kolhapur and Ganapatipule...

the good old C

the language C, I think is the simplest and most powerful language to program a software. Have learnt other high-end languages till Java, however I feel nothing is as simple and as addictive as C. I remember the days of my graduation when I wrote programs in C for solving problems related to some prime number series, calculus, integration or some programs even for fun - making the com act funny by printing the content in the document backwards, etc! I wonder how the technology has been evovling at a rapid pace..initially it was microprocess which use assembly language codes (very difficult to remember when you really want to write a program) then moved on to high level language like C, C++, SQL, Java, VB, .Net, etc... The area of software programming has been changing rapidly at a pace higher than a processor! and somewhere I feel I am lagging behind at the same pace :(

Saluting the heroes at Mumbai...

My salute to the real heroes who went ahead to save the civilians. They have done a splendid job and proven that if someone wants to cause the damage will not be spared. Army, NSG, Navy, ATS and Police were the strongest hopes, at the same time one should not forget the guests in hotels and the hotel staff who did an equally remarkable job which helped the terrorist activity to end. I salute to all these people and deeply express my condolences and pray for the souls of those who fought against the terrorists and lost their life. Its time for each one of us to stand united as India and fight against terrorism. Regional differences are just going to make us weak. I urge politicians not to fight for votes…rather fight as one united team to end the terrorism.

Mumbai... hit by an outrageous activity of terrorism..

Yesterday nights terrorist activity in Mumbai was an outrageous activity..of so many security checks in bus stations, rail stations, airports etc..how did these people get into the city and caused massive destruction to the public..this act of terrorism can not and should not be forgiven..i pray for the city to be back in peace soon..and with Mumbai police, ATS, NSG, Army and navy working together...hopes are strong that the situation wil be under control.

Why is it always difficult to change certain thing than starting a new one from the begining!

Crude oil price...That was a speculation for sure...

The price of the crude oil touched the levels below 50 dollars...the commodity that was trading above 120 dollars a couple of months ago now is looking for buyers at a price of below 50 dollars... from the trend the way the prices have fallen..it appears to be speculation and herd mentality which had made oil a costly thing to be traded..for sure it was not driven by fundamentals!
Nothing comes for free...you need to earn it...

Winning the Change...

Anticipate the resistance to change, tackle it through a plan...then nothing stops you from winning the change
so many things happen in a day, we forget few instances while few can never be forgotten... imagine if the brain had to remember each and every thing that happens around..we would have been seen with extendable devices attached to the head to store all those instances! thank god! we have the habit of forgetting...

Human nature is the most difficult thing to understand...its complex compared to calculus...so many things connected yet seperate like an electrical mesh... probability of understanding it stil remains at low even though we have so much of development in the field of science and technology...

still the fav!!! Kya Mujhe Pyar Hai...

stock markets under pressure, companies earnings quite good thou.. however, stock prices moving downwards... market sentiments and herd mentality, however you need the cautious as well as the intelligent investors in the market to ensure that the stock market exists!!! Have you ever wondered during the times of such a downfall there are investors buying stocks which are approx 50% less priced than that were 52 weeks ago...think why they are buying.. may be companies fundamentals are good, stocks are undervalued.. not sure thou. One thing is pretty clear, be it a downfall or rising stock prices..there are investors selling those stocks "because" some one is buying them...

Dennis the Menace...

Did you ever wonder of being like Dennis???

Dexter’s Lab...

Movie Time!

Weekends have been busy with watching movies these days... From the many movies that I watched, only two stand out as best... 1920 and A Wednesday.. Good direction and story in both the movies...

1920-

Photobucket

Scary and you will hold on to your chair.. sound and special effects have been fantastic. It really fits in the category of horror movies, unlike others which are advertised as scary and horror movies and the viewers end up waiting to get scarred! 1920 is a must see movie to have the scary experienc...

A Wednesday-

Photobucket

A Wednesday - superb movie.. Awesome direction and the story is unbelievable... Nasiruddin Shah and Anupam Kher are at their best in acting in this movie.

Ban on Smoking!

India witnesses no smoking at the public places from October 2nd... Well I think this move by the government is going to help those smokers who have tried quitting but have not been successful in the past. This move may see a resistance in the initial days, however I think people will get used to it.

More info on ban on smoking!!!

Kabhi Kabhi...

I am loving this song... I think I am going to learn to sing this... Lyrics for those who are willing to know this song like me...

Kabhi kabhi Aditi zindagi mein yun hi koi apna lagta hai.
Kabhi kabhi Aditi woh bichhar jaaye to ek sapna lagta hai.
Aise mein koi kaise apne aansu o ko behne se roke?
Aur kaise koi sochle everything’s gonna be ok?

Kabhi kabhi to lage zindagi mein rahi naa khushi aur naa mazaa.
Kabhi kabhi to lage har din mushkil aur har pal ek sazaa.
Aise mein koi kaise mushkuraye, kaise hasde khush hoke?
Aur kaise koi soch de everything’s gonna be ok?

Soch jara jaaneja tujhko hum kitna chahte hai.
Rotein hai hum bhi aggar teri ankhon mein aansu aate hai.
Gaana to aata nahi hai magar phir bhi hum gaate hai.
Ke Aditi maan kabhi, kabhi saare jahan mein andhera hota hai;
Lekin raat ke baad hi to savera hota hai.

Kabhi kabhi Aditi zindagi mein yun hi koi apna lagta hai.
Kabhi kabhi Aditi wo bichhar jaaye to ek sapna lagta hai.
Hey Aditi Hasde hasde hasde hasde hasde, hasde tu zara.
Nahi to bus thora thora thora thora thora, thora mushkura.

Tu khush hai to lage ke jahan mein chhaayi hai khushi.
Suraj nikle baadlon se aur baatein zindagi.
Sun to jara madhosh hawa tujhse kehne lagi.
Ke Aditi wo jo bichhad-te hai ek na ek din phir mil jaate hai;
Aditi jaane tu ya jaane na phool phir khil jaate hai.

Kabhi kabhi Aditi zindagi mein yun hi koi apna lagta hai.
Kabhi kabhi Aditi wo bichhar jaaye to ek sapna lagta hai.
( Hey Aditi Hasde hasde hasde hasde hasde, hasde tu zara.
Nahi to bus thora thora thora thora thora, thora mushkura...

Random Thoughts....

Never give importance to those for whom you are just an option.

Life does not give you everything you want… it gives you what is best for you. Don’t regret for what happens. Wait, there will be something good in the store for offering…

Give your best always…good work always pays good results…

Learn good from what happens from around…

Believe in self…

Think positive…

Be Confident…

It was outrageous...

Day before the storm that i saw...had never seen a storm moving with such a intense speed. It was wild...horrifying and was sure a outrageous one... For few minutes i was just watching it from a distance and had no clue what to do. I saw four people trying their best to close the door...however they succeeded only after the speed of the storm reduced. On the streets i could the damage caused by the storm...hoardings, lamp posts and even sheds were moved by it...

Thought for the week...

Behind an able man, there are always other able men...

So much is sometimes so little...

The day began and it ended...did not even realise how time flew today..time just flew like a jet! Started the day with the todo list however the list went on growing with as much speed as i was completing the tasks in a serial order...Wel thanks but no thanks to the adhoc tasks that made their way in the todo list...its difficult to estimate when such tasks would come..however there should be some way to make sure that all such activities do not affect the planned ones...

My take on - Kya Aap Panchvi Pass se tez hain...

I watched one episode of this new serial which started two days back... Hmmmm.. Well I think its a good entertainment factor and yes only till they are able to get a little dumb adults who don't know (or can pretend to be unware of...) the simple facts...I believe this show is going to be a big hit given two aspects the show has in it.. firstly, the children...they are cute...sharp and look too good on the screen and the grown-ups who fail to answer the simple questions which adds a lot of fun to this show... I think I will continue to share my views about this serial once couple more episodes are aired...and lastly..I just want to know if there is some source which can give statistics on how many books related to Class 1 to Class 5 sold during the last few weeks...just to get an idea of how many of the 20+ year old people have started revising what they read 20+ years ago!!!

Back to Blogger...

I have been using the blog on my site..however I felt the one on Blogger is easy to maintain and post considering the busy schedule I run into every day at work. It was becoming difficult to maintain the blog on my site after a hectic day at work or over the weekend. Well I did enjoy posting on my site, however time appears to be a constraint in continuing with it... Decided to continue blogging through Blogger.
