You can do without high paid journals...

While I was getting back from office yesterday..got a chance to listen to an economic commentery from an auto driver...he was so wel informed about the developments around economy and the crisis being faced by the companies...the plunging markets..dropping fuel prices..job market in trouble..all he is aware of.. one thing is for sure..one can keep himself updated with the latest developments even without having access to high paid journals..and its true that few auto drivers are really brilliant...

technology first...everything next...

There is lots to advance in the field of medicine yet...have people just focusing on technology? we moved from tiny microprocessors to the high duty pentium...from dos to vista...from wired networks to wireless...from fixed lines to pagers to mobiles...etc well we still have few diseases for which there is no complete cure yet...take for example cancer..etc..wel the advancement in technology should not only be used to determine PE of a company..it should be shared and incorporated in the field of medicine to eliminate the diseases that are a threat to life and mankind...

Circuit City...liquidating huge inventory!

One of the largest bankruptcies in the retail, Circuit City would be liquidating close $1.8 bn inventory and shutting most of its stores. With the losses and the bankruptcies with large corporations, will the economy take a long time to recover? Is bail out the right way, or is it adding more to the recession? More on Circuit City at this link

Traffic...lane discipline is important...

It appears like Bangalore has more vehicles resulting in more traffic than the roads can actually handle...roads are not of adequate breadth which can allow a free flow of two way traffic..resulting into traffic jams..to cover 7 kms it takes atleast 35 minutes...the only hope is metro service which is to start in few years..that might reduce the traffic on roads... Meanwhile if the people follow lane discipline..it should help the vehicles to move easily...

change is permanent...

The only permanent thing is CHANGE...sometimes it is by choice while other times it is enforced...whatever it is..the bottom line is "change is permanent". Its good to experience what it offers rather than experiencing the old stuff...

Nortel...

Another corporation joining the leaguage of bankruptcy...slowing economy stormed the giant banks followed by the auto makers...now slowly capturing other sectors. Nortel Networks today filed bankruptcy moving its stock price southwards..the money that is getting eroded from the market after instances like these is huge...i wonder only the diversified companies can survive the hurricane slowing_economy...

ASAP...

ASAP is a very subjective term...for someone it might be a task to be completed within an hour while for someone else it might be a task to be completed within few days! it depends on the perception and criticality someone puts on a task...better to define it rather than saying ASAP...

Think Green!

Think Green

Project Green is something which I want to implement...be it changing the lights of the house to CFLs, not using plastic bags, using office cab rather than going by auto to save on fuel consumption, minimum use of printed documents (if something can be read through a softcopy, then why waste paper for taking prints)...etc. 10 simple ways to go green can be found at this link.
